PM: Malaysia among model nations in Kazakhstan’s development plan

ASTANA (Kazakhstan): Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev has made Malaysia as one of its model nations in the country’s development plan, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

The Prime Minister said the matter was discussed with Nazarbayev at a four-eye meeting at the Akorda Presidential Palace here Friday.
“In my meeting with him, Nazarbayev said he considered Malaysia as a modern and progressive Islamic nation.
“He was impressed with the ability and success of Malaysia in implementing Islamic principles and laws which show Islam is a religion which does not hinder development and that the accomplishments of Malaysia could be made a model and example,” Najib told Malaysian journalists here Saturday.
Najib, who was accompanied by his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, Second Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh and Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz, is on a three-day official visit here since Thursday. — BERNAMA
